Default Importing Systems

Good day,

I've been trying for some time to import a large number of Master BOMs into XFRACAS ( Using the admin Import function I do not have the ability to select "SYSTEM" as my import type. It was suggested that I write an update script in order to list the option, but then it was further suggested that I just update to 9.0.14. I don't have the option of upgrading to a new version only IT can do that and I don't work in that department.

Writing a script in SQL would be the more preferable option for me but I don't know the table names in order to tailor my script. I was reading another post about getting to the back end of the XFRACAS database. How do I accomplish this?

Failing that, is there a way I can tailor an XML file to accept systems?

Thank you,

Travis Brown

Default Re: Importing Systems

Hi Travis,

From what I have been able to gather regarding this, the issue with the template not appearing in the list has been fixed in the latest update 9.0.14. The easiest solution that I can suggest is to see if you can get your IT department to update the system. The option of creating a custom script to address this would be quite involved for us to write the script, test it and then update your system. This would also depend on the permissions that you have regarding the database.

This issue is addressed with the latest update and hopefully your IT group will be able to update the system for you. Is this a staging or production environment? If this is a staging environment then your IT department might be more willing to run the update.
